What decides the cost of a Kashmir trip
The biggest costs of a Kashmir trip from Delhi are flights, hotels and the private cab. Flights change the most: booking early and avoiding Christmas, New Year and school holidays makes the biggest difference.
Hotel choice is the next big factor. A night on a Dal Lake houseboat is part of almost every trip, and the rest can be budget hotels, comfortable 3-star stays or luxury resorts in Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
A private cab for the whole trip usually costs less than booking local taxis in each place, and saves a lot of bargaining. Gondola tickets, pony rides and local union vehicles in Pahalgam and Sonamarg are extra, and we list them upfront so you can budget for them.
